Let Them Let Me Eat Cake!

Baking a cake takes no time at all. And eating it—that's like inhaling. But writing about it sucks up the weeks and months, and next thing you know, it's more than a year since the cake blog has been given some sugar.

My sugar came yesterday in the form of an agent for my book, which I like to call Let Me Eat Cake: A Celebration of Flour, Sugar, Butter, Eggs, Baking Powder, and a Pinch of Salt (and some vanilla! how did I forget vanilla?).

Jumping up and down every few minutes takes a lot out of you, but I figure the more I jump, the more cake I get to eat. And there's a pan of Aunt Margaret's chocolate cake on the counter in the kitchen right now.

I'm jumping up and down with you. I can't wait to buy your book even though I've never felt the way you do about sheet cake.

I couldn't let you have 1 slices. Your a writer now and 1 slices just doesn't work. :) Cake is good with icecream. It's pretty much good with everything though. Well, I am with you jumping up and down. I think I got my library of congress and ISBN numbers on the same day. How strange.

I need to email you about the email I got back from you-know-who. I guess it's not completely over. We'll see.

But damn if I'm not SOOOO excited for you!

This is very exciting news and it's great to see you back here. You've been missed. Don't eat the cake! Ok, you can eat it, but only a little bit, k?

I am so happy for you. Your writing is phenomenal. I've yet to taste a piece of your cake, but I hope that's in my future.

You've even made me appreciate poetry. That's kind of miraculous. Put me down for 2 books, at least.

Dang that Brownie. What a killjoy! I'll eat cake with you and smear it all over the cover of your book in celebration! I hope it's laminated!
